Two Families Displaced After Hartford Fire
Both families are receiving special assistance from the Connecticut Red Cross.
HARTFORD, CT — The state's Red Cross chapter is helping several people displaced by a blaze in Hartford Tuesday.
According to the Connecticut Red Cross, two families — four adults and six children — were impacted by a fire on Hillside Avenue in the city.
Volunteers with the agency distributed "comfort kits" with personal care supplies and "other items a resident might need when suddenly displaced from their home by a fire," according to the Red Cross.

Red Cross officials said the families have been assigned caseworkers to work with them in coming days to develop a plan to recover.
"Additionally, the Red Cross provided a recovery envelope containing information helpful to families recovering from a fire, including tips on cleanup, notification of important contacts, handling damaged items and more," wrote the Red Cross.

No serious injuries were reported from the fire.
