According to evidence introduced at trial, on May 4, 2021, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Hartford police officers responded to 17 Norwich St. on a shot spotter activation of six rounds.

According to Walcott, officers located three victims, each suffering from gunshot wounds.

Three men — two aged 33 and one aged 30 — were socializing in front of 19 Norwich St., officials said.

During that time, they witnessed an altercation between a male and a female and the male was later identified as Rodriguez.

That's when, Walcott said, one of the victims yelled, “Chill out,” and for the male to stop hitting the female.

Rodriguez responded, “You don’t want any part of this,” and then telephoned Fields, she said.

Minutes later, Fields and Rodriguez walked toward the trio and began shooting at them as the victims tried to flee.

Police found one victim lying in the driveway at 15-17 Norwich St. with a gunshot wound to his chest.

The two other victims were located inside 19 Norwich St., suffering from gunshot wounds to the back and leg.

A 33-year-old man was transported to Hartford Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The other 33-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to his ankle and the 30-year-old male sustained two gunshot wounds to his back and is paralyzed as a result of the attack, Walcott said.

Sentencing is scheduled for May 8 in Hartford Superior Court.
