Unruly Student Causes Major Damage to Hartford School
A student triggered the school's sprinkler system, causing tens of thousands of dollars in damage and closing the school until Friday.

HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford school will be closed until Friday after an incident with an unruly student Monday led to deployment of the school's entire sprinkler system.
Around 12:30 p.m. Monday, police responded to the High Road School at 245 Locust Street for a property damage complaint. Investigation revealed a disruptive female student had been placed in an isolation room, and had struck a sprinkler head with her shoe, activating the school's sprinklers, a police report stated.
Extensive water damage was caused throughout the school, with initial estimates ranging from $50,000 to $100,000, the report said.
