Weaver High School Boys to Play in Prestigious Hoophall Classic

The five-day showcase event in Springfield, featuring top scholastic teams from across the country, runs from Jan. 12-16.

HARTFORD, CT — En route to what it hopes will be a fifth straight appearance in a state championship game, the Weaver High School boys basketball team will be making a midseason appearance in one of high school's most elite showcases.

The Hoophall Classic, a five-day exhibition featuring 60 top high school boys and girls programs, is scheduled for Jan. 12-16, 2017 at the birthplace of basketball, Springfield College.

Six boys games are scheduled at Blake Arena on Saturday, Jan. 14, with Weaver taking on Roselle Catholic High School (NJ) in the day's opening contest at noon.

  • Weaver (CT) vs. Roselle Catholic (NJ), noon
  • Notre Dame-West Haven (CT) vs. Hudson Catholic (NJ), 1:30 p.m.
  • Archbishop Molloy (NY) vs. St. Anthony (TX), 3 p.m.
  • DeMatha Catholic (MD) vs. Bishop Gorman (NV), 4:30 p.m.
  • Cambridge Rindge and Latin (MA) vs. Crossroads School (CA), 6 p.m.
  • Westtown School (PA) vs. Hillcrest Prep (AZ), 8 p.m.
