West Hartford Couple Charged With Heroin Trafficking
A traffic stop in Hartford and search warrant execution in West Hartford yielded large amounts of heroin, fentanyl and other drugs.

HARTFORD, CT — A lengthy investigation by a regional narcotics task force into the trafficking of heroin and fentanyl culminated Thursday night with the arrest of a West Hartford couple.
Kevin Crabb, 36, and Renee Cottrill, 34, had been identified in the course of the investigation as the source of supply of heroin/fentanyl in the greater Hartford area related to numerous overdoses, a police report stated.
During a motor vehicle stop in Hartford, Crabb and Cottrill were found in possession of 51 grams of fentanyl, several grams each of marijuana, cocaine and heroin, and $3,040 in cash. A subsequent search warrant executed at their home at 93 Caya Avenue in West Hartford yielded an addition 714 grams of fentanyl, 59 grams of raw heroin, 32 grams of cocaine, $1,200 in cash and numerous items of drug-related paraphernalia, police said.

Crabb and Cottrill were each charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a drug factory and risk of injury to a child. Bond was set at $250,000 apiece.
