Wrestlers From Hartford County Shine At State Championship Meets
East Hartford High School shared the Class LL team title for the first time, while 11 individual champions are from Hartford County schools.

CONNECTICUT — High school wrestlers from around the state competed Friday and Saturday in the divisional state championships, and grapplers from Hartford County posted some outstanding individual and team performances.
East Hartford won its first-ever team championship, sharing the Class LL title with perennial powerhouse Danbury. This was no small feat, as the Hatters have won 23 LL championships and 16 State Open crowns since 1989.
In individual competition, 11 wrestlers who hail from schools in Hartford County won their divisions. The top six place-winners from the divisional meets qualify for the State Open this Friday and Saturday at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven.
