Young Hartford Girl Shot in Face

A witness told police shots were fired from a black car outside a Branford Street residence.

HARTFORD, CT — A 10-year-old girl sustained a gunshot wound to her face during a hail opf bullets in a mid-afternoon shooting on Branford Street.

A police report stated a Shot Spotter activation recorded 11 rounds being fired in the area of 244 Branford Street at 3:47 p.m. Police were advised a victim was being transported to a hospital via private vehicle from 247 Branford Street.

At the hospital, the young female victim was treated for her wound, and is reported to be in stable condition, police said.

Police found five spent 9mm casings in front of 247 Branford Street, as well as considerable gunfire damage to the residence.

A witness told police the shots had been fired from a black vehicle, which then fled east on Branford Street, according to the report.
