1 Dead, 1 Injured In Ledyard Route 117 Crash

LEDYARD, CT — A man is dead following a wreck in Ledyard on Tuesday morning, according to WTNH News-8. The crash occurred on Center Groton Road (Route 117) south of Lorenz Parkway.

The Ledyard Emergency Communication Center received a 911 call reporting a two-car crash shortly before 6:30 a.m., according to WTNH News-8. The occupants of both vehicles were trapped and both vehicles were on fire.

A Volkswagen Jetta was driving north on Center Groton Road and a Chevy C20 was going south on Center Groton Road when the accident occurred.

Brian Jolicoeur, 59, of Ledyard, was driving the Chevy and died in the wreck, The New London Day reported. A Groton man was injured in the crash and taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for treatment.
