LEDYARD, CT — The Ledyard Memorial Day parade is this weekend, and motorists can expect to encounter road closures and detours.
The event, which had been postponed due to inclement weather, begins Saturday, June 27 at 1 p.m. in Ledyard Center.
The theme this year is “250 Years of Service and Sacrifice.”
Police Chief Ken Creutz has issued a traffic advisory for the parade.
The event will cause a temporary closure of Route 117 in Ledyard Center at the start of the parade. This temporary closure will last for about 15 to 20 minutes.
The parade will travel along Colonel Ledyard Highway and end at Ledyard High School. Colonel Ledyard Highway will also be closed for the duration of the parade, which is expected to last about 45 minutes.
Motorists should expect minor delays in the area and are encouraged to use caution and plan ahead, according to police.
