LEDYARD, CT — A fire broke out in a home's garage early Tuesday morning, according to the Gales Ferry Volunteer Fire Company.
The Gales Ferry and Ledyard fire companies were dispatched to Bittersweet Drive on a report of a fire just after 5 a.m.
Firefighters arrived at the address to find a well-involved fire in an attached garage. They began to extinguish the fire and searched the home.
The area doesn't have fire hydrants, so a tanker task force was requested to supply water.
Everyone in the home was able to safely evacuate. Firefighters removed one dog from the home, and paramedics provided aid.
The fire marshal is investigating the blaze.
