• Ledyard Beautification Committee Approves Spending For Daffodil Planting Day (patch.com) — Ledyard residents can look forward to a Daffodil Planting Day on October 17, funded by $500 in newly approved spending from the Beautification Committee. Members also discussed a potential school-based mural, native fruit trees near Ledyard Middle School, expanded gardening classes, and improvements around a rediscovered flagpole by Juliet W. Long School, all aimed at enhancing local public spaces.
• Ledyard Wetlands Commission Approves 14-Lot Kineo Estates Resubdivision (patch.com) — Several new projects in Ledyard just cleared a key hurdle, as the Inland Wetlands and Water Courses Commission approved a 14-lot Kineo Estates resubdivision with a new town road plus three separate home and commercial proposals. Commissioners also deemed a major farm expansion with hoop houses and an irrigation pond an "as of right" use, imposing erosion controls and inspections across all projects to protect local wetlands.
