LEDYARD, CT — The Ledyard Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing Thursday, Oct. 22, on a proposal to allow a country inn on Pumpkin Hill Road to operate a restaurant open to the public.
Commissioners also are scheduled to review plans for a commercial building addition in Gales Ferry and consider a request for additional time to file final plans for a previously approved 36-unit multifamily housing development in Ledyard Center.
The commission will consider an application to modify an existing special use permit for the country inn at 515 Pumpkin Hill Road.
James Prenetta submitted the application on behalf of property owner 515 Pumpkin Hill Road Acquisition.
The proposal would allow the country inn to operate a public restaurant.
The application was submitted Aug. 31 and formally received by the commission Sept. 10.
A public hearing is scheduled for Oct. 22, followed by possible discussion and a decision.
Commissioners will resume consideration of a proposed commercial building addition at 1363 Baldwin Hill Road.
RVE Properties, the applicant and property owner, is seeking site plan approval for the addition and associated site improvements.
Engineer and land surveyor Michael S. Ott is representing the applicant.
The application was submitted Sept. 15 and received by the commission Oct. 8.
Consideration was postponed until Oct. 22.
According to the agenda, the commission's decision deadline is Dec. 1.
The commission also will consider a request from Ledyard Center LLC for an additional 90 days to file final site plans for a 36-unit multifamily residential development at 740 Colonel Ledyard Highway.
The applicant is Sal Monarca of Ledyard Center LLC.
The commission approved the development with conditions July 9, and legal notice of the approval was published July 14.
The original filing deadline was Oct. 11.
The developer is requesting a 90-day extension to file the site plan mylars, the final drawings used for official recording.
The request concerns the filing deadline for the previously approved development rather than a new application.
The Planning and Zoning Commission's special meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, in the Council Chambers at 741 Colonel Ledyard Highway.
Residents may attend in person or participate remotely through the town's Zoom meeting.
The meeting ID is 844 3297 4877, and the passcode is 344877.
