I'll Have a Mystery With a Side of Twist
If you love a great mystery with a twist, then you should check out AMC's 'The Killing.'
I love mysteries, I love to read mystery books, I love mystery movies, and I love mystery television programs. I love solving, or should I say trying to solve, the murder! There is nothing better than a great mystery with a twist.
I remember a couple of years ago, a television program called Harper’s Island. I believe it was a 12-week program, maybe longer, and each week someone would get murdered and you the viewer would have to try and figure out who the killer was. The last episode when they revealed who the killer was, I was shocked!
See, to me that’s a great mystery with a twist. It annoys me when I’m 5 minutes into a program or book or movie and I know immediately who the killer is or the bad person or I can sum up the ending. I love the shock effect and the, I never saw that coming effect.

Right now I’m hooked on AMC’s The Killing, which is based on a very successful Danish television series Forbrydelsen and tells the story of a young girls murder in Seattle. It ties together three stories around the murder including the detectives assigned to the case, the family of the victim and the suspects. It’s a 13-episode show which airs on Sundays 10:00PM.
The series just finished episode 11. I of course DVR’d it and have not watched it yet, but will do so very shortly. With only two more episodes to go before the killer is revealed, I highly recommend that if you have not been watching this show, then try catching it online at amctv.com, or check out when the repeats are aired. If you have been watching, then share your thoughts and we can discuss our theories. If you are like me and love mysteries you won’t be disappointed in this one. I think I really should have been a detective!
