Those of you who listen to my Morning show weekdays from 6am-9am on 94.9 News Now normally get a chance to hear from some of the many political candidates running either Nationally or here at the local level. What I am about to discuss in no way shape or form singles out, nor excludes any of them from what I am about to discuss. In plain English I am not necessarily talking about anyone who has appeared on my show........While I am writing this blog I am watching a recorded stream on the Bulletins Web Site of Ray Hackett systematically dismantling a local candidate. If you don't know Ray he is the Opinion Editor for the Bulletin and a regular on my show Friday mornings at 7:35. I bring all this up because in an era where government loves to mandate , I would like to propose an IQ mandate for all possible elected officials. It would be simple. Before you are allowed to put up one election sign, hold one campaign fundraiser, or knock on one door YOU MUST PASS an IQ test. I am not asking for a lot here. Abe Lincolns IQ was 128, Albert Einstein was 160, Madonna is 140, and Leonardo da Vinci was a robust 220. I am not asking for 220 or even 120. Lets mandate a nice round number of 80. Yea 80 works for me. Even at an IQ of 80 people like (IQ's are hidden to protect the simple) Lindsey Lohan and Kim Kardashian, would still be able to run for office. That being considered an IQ of 80 would eliminate about 60% of the current want a be politicians running for office.
