This is Bella. She was found wandering on Halloween and even with extensive advertising no one claimed her as their own. She was in rough shape, matted, nails curling under into the pads of her paws and smelled horrible. That was her outside appearance; her insides were another matter, tumors and liver issues, and rotten teeth.
Her eyes, though, were so expressive, her tiny tail wagging, and she captured the hearts of many of our townspeople. I brought her by the Ledyard Town Hall where I am blessed to have so many caring co-workers. An "Earth Angel" who wishes to remain anonoymous donated the money to have our girl x-rayed to see what if anything could be done to help her. The x-rays done at All Friends Animal Hospital showed they might be able to help. They donated their time and lab work to figure out our next step.
Bella's liver counts were very high and she went to another "Earth Angel," Regina, to be cared for in her home and so she could be monitored 24/7 and given her medicine. Bella enjoyed Regina's lap and everyone who visted with her, but after seven days the liver disease was too much for her to live with. Bella passed in my arms this morning. She will be missed by her caring, extended pound Family.

We will probably never know who "dumped" this little pup and left her on the road that day. I am thankful she was picked up and we could see her through her final days here. Special thank-yous go to Bella's Earth Angels and to Jennifer, owner of here in Ledyard, who took her in, bathed her and groomed her and helped her feel much better! And also to All Friends Animal Hospital! A staff of the most caring, loving and special people I have ever met. They helped her here and they helped me after she was gone.
See you at the Rainbow Bridge my little friend! HUGS!!!
