Brothers Charged In Fight Involving Kitchen Knives: Ledyard Police

Two men 'began throwing kitchen-style knives at each other as well as slashing and stabbing each other' during a fight, according to police.

LEDYARD, CT — Two brothers were charged following a fight involving kitchen knives in Ledyard, according to police.

Police responded to a call at 8:02 p.m. regarding a disturbance involving two adult brothers.

Police arrived at the Long Cove Road home in Gales Ferry and found two that the two men had a verbal argument that escalated to a physical fight.

The two men then began "throwing kitchen-style knives at each other as well as slashing and stabbing each other," police said in a statement.

One of the men suffered minor cuts and bruises and the other suffered a stab wound to his chest.

Both were transported to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital where they were treated and released to police custody.

Tyler Dyer, 20, was charged with disorderly conduct, first-degree reckless endangerment, and second-degree assault. He was held on $200,000 bond.

Christopher Dyer, 25, was charged with disorderly conduct, second-degree reckless endangerment, and third-degree assault. He was held on $150,000 bond.

Both are scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Tuesday.
