We are thrilled to invite you to our 12th annual Whiskers in Wonderland!! This day is for the pets at the Ledyard Animal Control! We will be having a pet food collection drive. There will be a Snowman Wish Tree with tags containing special wishes from the ACO’s and pets at the shelter. AND ALL PROCEEDS from the sale of raffle tickets and Santa photos will go into their medical fund for the pets.
Come shop LOCAL with our vendors who are bringing their best just for you! There will be a fun table just for the kids so be sure they check it out. Don’t leave without looking at the RAFFLES!!! All donated generously by local businesses and CHAIN supporters.
And don't forget the star of the show...SANTA! Bring the family, kids, pets*, and your SMILES and get your photos taken with Santa!
*Pets are welcome. Dogs must be on leash and cats in carriers except to take them out for a photo

Coastal Mudworks

In this 2-hour workshop, get creative with clay as you design and build a fruit bowl statement piece. Students will begin by constructing a large slab bowl, then personalize it by cutting out fun shapes and patterns using freehand techniques or a variety of cookie cutters. Whether you love bold designs, nature-inspired motifs, or geometric patterns, your bowl will be completely one of a kind. Once your masterpiece is finished, choose your glaze color and we'll professionally glaze and fire it for a beautiful, food-safe finish. No experience is needed, beginners are all welcome! Your finished piece will be ready for pickup 3 weeks after the event. Ages 18+. Register online.

Celebrating the Gifts of the Land Through Indigenous Culture, Art, Food and Family-Friendly Activities
The Mashantucket Pequot Museum &amp; Research Center will host its annual Harvest Moon Living Exhibition on Saturday, September 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., welcoming visitors for a day celebrating the changing seasons and the gifts of the land through Indigenous culture, art, food and community.
The Harvest Moon offers an opportunity to reflect on the changing seasons and celebrate the abundance and gifts of the land. The Museum’s seasonal event offers family-friendly activities, cultural experiences, music, art, storytelling, food and beverage offerings, and opportunities to learn about the importance of the harvest season in Indigenous communities. 
“The Harvest Moon Living Exhibition is an opportunity for guests of all ages to come together, experience Indigenous culture and learn about the importance of the harvest season,” said Maurice Jackson, Director of Sales and Museum Services. “Through hands-on activities, cultural programming and opportunities to connect with the land, we’re proud to create an experience that celebrates Native knowledge and traditions.”
Event Highlights

 <li>Vendor Market and Craft Activities: Browse the Indigenous marketplace and participate in hands-on craft activities and scavenger hunts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.</li>
 <li>Animal Encounters: Meet animals from Xen’s Critters and the Maritime Aquarium Touch Tank from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.</li>
 <li>Gourd Painting: Paint a gourd with artist Julianna from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free for Museum members; non-members may participate for a donation. </li>
 <li>Weewachum Food &amp; Beverage Station: Enjoy fresh corn on the cob, popcorn and Purple Corn Juice (Chicha Morada) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., while supplies last.</li>
 <li>Fire-Roasted Corn Salad Demonstrations: Learn how to prepare fire-roasted corn salad during demonstrations at noon, 12:30 p.m., 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.</li>
 <li>Cultural Programming: The event will feature social dancing, a flute performance, storytelling and opportunities to learn more about the Gifts of the Land and the Pequot community.</li>

The Jay Heritage Center (JHC) is proud to welcome educators and the general public to our site during September 2026, Constitution Month, to commemorate our nation’s journey towards independence and democracy. The free program is co-sponsored by the Mid-Hudson Social Studies Council. The event will be the first of many lively conversation about America at 250 with some of our country’s leading history scholars. It is open to teachers throughout the Mid Hudson and Sound Shore communities as well as Fairfield County.
Professors David Blight, Frank Cogliano, Joanne Freeman and Beverly Gage will take the stage at the new Wachenheim Center to examine the history of the nation-state and the contested nature of American national identity. The panel will discuss what the United States and the Constitution have meant to citizens over time and how that vision has changed or stayed constant. &nbsp;The event is FREE but registration is required. Deans Mill Farm 

Built in the mid-1700s as a functioning livestock farm, Deans Mill Farm has gone through an evolution in recent decades. A full renovation of the historic buildings and rejuvenation of the surrounding 70+ acres has made the property into the incredible venue it is today. Deans Mill Farm now operates primarily as a private event space and five-room bed and breakfast tucked down a private road in Stonington, Connecticut. It shares its property with Dragonfly Equestrian Center and is home to dozens of horses. On the property lies meadows, hiking trails, beautiful fields and Dragonfly Disc Golf. The property can be rented for weddings, birthday parties and other special events. Additionally, the bed and breakfast can be rented by the room or reserved in its entirety for complete privacy.
