PHOTOS: Colonels Tame Bobcats, 38-7

The Ledyard High School Colonels football team took another step toward division supremacy with an impressive 38-7 win over the Bacon Academy Bobcats in Colchester Saturday afternoon.

Ledyard settled matters early, taking an 18-0 lead into the locker room at the half that included a 100-yard rushing performance by star running back Alex Manwaring. He finished the day with more than 300 yards.

The second half was more of the same. Achkee Barber Matt Daggett each scored touchdowns in the game, and Manwaring, the ECC rushing leader, did the rest.

Bacon Academy's only score came on a fake punt that was run into the end zone.
