Come to Ledyard Congregational Church for a Rainbow of Reasons
Full of fun, food, and celebration as the church celebrates five years of being open and affirming to the gay community.

Rainbows. Doors. Music. and More.
Keep your eyes on the lookout when you drive by Ledyard Congregational Church (LCC). Soon there will be a colorful display... of doors! What’s behind those doors? It’s all part of a milestone celebration for the church’s 5th anniversary of being “Open and Affirming” (ONA) to the LGBT Community. The event takes place on February 28th and the whole community is invited.
ONA is the designation that a church makes a public covenant to welcome into their full life and ministry to persons of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions.

To honor this special anniversary LCC is opening its doors to this special set of “traveling” doors, that were created by Pastor Jonathan Chapman from the Westfield Congregational Church. Each full size door has a word etched in it proudly spelling out, “God’s Doors Are Open To All”. The doors are painted with various colors of the rainbow, the LGBT symbol, and are available for other churches to display to the community.
“We were honored to open our doors to the new food pantry,” says Reverend Dr. Catriona Grant. “Now we are thrilled to remind the community that our doors are indeed open to all.”

Inside the church, the entire worship service beginning at 9:30 will be about LGBT equality, celebrating with special music, a children’s message, and more. Following the service at 10:45 a.m., there will be a re-affirmation of the church’s commitment to the LGBT community outside in front of the doors.
“We wanted to host an event to help spread the word to the community members so that they fully understand the reach of our open arms,” says LCC Christian Ed teacher Lisa Curtis.
Then everyone will be welcome for a light lunch inside. Ledyard Congregational Church is located at 722 Colonel Ledyard Highway, in Ledyard, CT.
