Community Remembers, Grieves Over Loss of Ledyard High School Freshman

Ledyard will sorely miss 14-year old Conor Irwin, who passed away this week following a tragic skateboard accident.

LEDYARD, CT - A 14-year old Ledyard resident was pronounced dead on Monday after falling from his skateboard in November, leaving the community to grieve, The Day reported.

Conor Irwin lost a 10-day struggle after falling from his longboard skateboard on Nov. 25, according to The Day. He had hit the back of his head after going down a hill, resulting in a skull fracture as well as brain bruising.

Many have taken to Facebook and newly created Instagram account to remember the Ledyard High School freshman and all the joy he brought to the community, according to The Day. Many have described Conor as selfless, helpful and someone who brought immense joy to others.
