Crews Respond To Fire At Foxwoods: UPDATE
Gales Ferry fire officials said firefighters responded to a reported fire at Foxwoods. BREAKING

MASHANTUCKET, CT — Officials from the Gales Ferry Fire Department said firefighters responded Monday afternoon to a reported fire at Foxwoods Resort Casino, according to media reports. The fire was reported on the 21st floor of the Grand Pequot Tower hotel.
Officials said the fire broke out on casino grounds and caused the sprinkler system to go off, as reported by Eyewitness News 3. Officials said the sprinklers likely put out the fire before it could cause serious damage.
Officials said the fire occurred on a balcony on the 21st floor of the hotel, NBC Connecticut reported. The Ledyard Fire Department, Mashantucket Pequot Fire Department and Mohegan Tribal Fire Department also responded to the hotel.

The incident is still under investigation, however officials said the cause of the fire seemed to be an electrical short within a wall, according to Eyewitness News 3. No injuries were reported.
