They explained that a list of delinquent dog licenses is given to dog wardens via the town clerk’s office by August 1. Because each Connecticut municipality is charged with the responsibility of licensing dogs by July 1, the town’s animal control officer is responsible for conducting a diligent search for any unlicensed dogs.
People with unlicensed dogs will receive phone calls, mail or an in-person visit to notify them of the licensing requirement.
