We are getting many calls from people who have adopted from an out of state rescue wanting to sign their dogs over to us. We understand many have had positive results from adoptions like these but these are people who did their homework, researched the breed they wanted to adopt and made sure the rescue was legitimate. Many don't even get to meet their new dog until they are in a parking lot somewhere, the dog is paid for and then handed over. Then you can not reach the "rescue" again. Talk to people who have had good experiences, find out details. You don't want to adopt a fearful dog or one with high levels of anxiety in to a home with lots of children and activity. But when they come off the transport it may take a few days or even months before their true selves emerge. Reputable rescues and local pounds know their pups and where the best placement is for them. Please listen and then make a decision.
