On Friday, April 24, at 2:43 p.m., the Ledyard and Gales Ferry Volunteer Fire Company responded to Gallup Hill Road between Flintlock Road and Wendle Comrie Road for the report of a dumpster fire which had extended to the adjacent woods.

Units arrived to find an active dumpster fire and approximate 1/2 acre brush fire. The fire was brought under control in about 20 minutes.
