Updated: Gales Ferry Man Found Safe in Pennsylvania
Richard Schuerch Suffers From Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia

Ledyard Police Lt. Michael Finkelstein said an 81-year-old Gales Ferry man who went missing Thursday morning was found safe in Pennsylvania Friday morning. He did not provide additional details.
Richard Schuersh, of 278 Whalehead Road, left his home at 11 a.m. Thursday, telling his wife he was going for a ride. Schuerch suffers from Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
He left in a tan 2004 Buick Century. Police said Thursday they had information that he may have been in the Branford area Thursday evening. Schuerch has wandered before, according to reports, and has been known to show up in the New Haven area.
