BOOK DISCUSSION

“The Christmas Glass” by Marci Alborghetti is the choice for this December‟s book discus-sion. This book takes place during the early years of WW11 in Italy. Anna, a widow who runs an orphanage possesses twelve hand blown Christmas ornaments that have been handed down by her mother. In order to preserve the ornaments from being destroyed in the war, Anna chooses to send them to her cousin for safe keeping. The orphanage that Anna is run-ning is secretly sheltering Jewish children, which could place her, the children and the or-naments at risk. The story evolves around the ornaments and the people who are given the or-naments to care for over the years. You may be surprised to find out just how far the ornaments travel and who gets them and do they come to-gether again. It is a beautifully written book about family, choices….It is a perfect book for Christmas, so please come and enjoy the discus-sion and wonderful fellowship.Marci Alborghetti resides in New London, CT and Sausalito, CA. In addition to “The Christ-mas Glass” she has written ten books and herdevotionals have been featured in the Daily Guidepost since 2000.December 1st at 7:00 p.m. in the Blue Room.
