The following is a press release from the Ledyard Public Libraries:
Join Nancy Balcom from CT Sea Grant to see a “who’s who” of aquatic invaders in Long Island Sound, learn what makes these species “invasive” (as told through a tale of two sons), how aquatic organisms end up residing in the Sound thousands of miles from their native waters, and find out what boaters and anglers can do to help minimize their spread. Nancy Balcom is an extension educator and associate director for CT Sea Grant, a partnership between the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the University of Connecticut. She conducts educational programs on seafood safety and aquatic invasive species.
