Ann Makepeace’s documentary is being shown in conjunction with the One Book, One Region selection, Caleb’s Crossing. It details the revival of the Wampanoag’s language that disappeared after the arrival of the European settlers. The story follows Jessie Little Doe Baird, a Wamponaog linguist, who is working to bring back her people’s language.
