Firefighters Search for Man in Ledyard Woods Under Harsh Weather Conditions
Police were told the missing man had left the his hotel to go swimming but did not return.
LEDYARD, CT - A search for a man in the woods of Ledyard ended successfully late Thursday, as reported by The Day.
Firefighters searched for a Christopher Murphy, 44, in the woods near Lantern Hill under harsh weather conditions, according to The Day. Police were told Murphy had left the Two Trees Inn at Foxwoods around 3:45 p.m. to go swimming but did not return.
Officials said Murphy emerged from the woods and was spotted on Route 214 shortly before 9 p.m., The Day reported. He was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police had previously issued a silver alert for Murphy.
