Yes Drool. It comes with the territory of having a Saint Bernard. Saint Bernards have large jowls where saliva pools before it spills over or before the dog shakes his head and drenches everyone in sight. I guess there are those who are annoyed and find it gross (most of our house guests) and then there's the four of us. We got used to it.
There's the "I Love Food" drool, that happens when he sees something he'd love to eat.
There's the "I'm going to drool even more when your friends are here".
There's the "Bowl of Drool" after he drinks from the water bowl.
There's "Seasonal Drool", during warm weather.
and the solution....the Drool Rag or towel. In our home just as we take out a new dish towel everyday, we take out a new drool towel everyday.
Professional Saint Bernard handlers tuck drool rags in their waistbands before taking their dogs into the show ring.
I think we're all at the point here, where it makes us giggle. If he slobbers on our clothes we just wipe with a damp rag. It's really not that bad considering all the joy he brings to our lives.
