Heads-Up: Don't Worry About Low Flying Helicopter In Ledyard
On Tuesday and Thursday, June 11 and 12, a blue and white helicopter will be flying low and hovering as it surveys vegetation in Ledyard.

LEDYARD, CT—Mayor Fred Allen III took to Facebook Monday morning to tell residents to expect to see a low-flying helicopter overhead Tuesday June 11 and Wednesday June 12.
Allen wrote, "Eversource will be conducting aerial vegetation reviews of transmission lines June 11 and June 12 in Ledyard. This will be a white and blue helicopter that may be low flying and/or hovering. This activity will be weather permitting and will be between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m."

As was previously reported by the Hartford Courant, the utility, "As part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the power grid and increase reliability," surveys "vegetation growing near its high voltage transmission lines."
Eversource uses helicopters to do the surveying.
