Heating Assistance Appointments Available at Ledyard Senior Center

Heating Assistance Appointments are Still Available at Ledyard Senior Center — Wednesday, 12/3/14, 8 a.m. to noon — Appointments are required (860-464-0471) and are about 15 minutes long.

Do not have to be a senior. Anyone in the community who is eligible should make an appointment. This is intended for low income households in need of assistance for home energy bills.

The program goal is to assist low income households who pay a high proportion of their income toward fuel bills. Priority is given to “vulnerable households” made up of young children, elderly or disabled individuals.

Program services include: financial assistance towards a household’s energy bill, emergency assistance if a household’s home energy service is shut off or about to be shut off, and a range of other energy-related services such as weatherization improvements, utility equipment repair and replacement, and budget counseling.
