Intoxicated Woman Arrested For Shooting Birds Off Feeder
Police said an intoxicated Ledyard woman was arrested after she was allegedly found to be shooting birds off of her bird feeder.

LEDYARD, CT - Police said a woman was arrested Wednesday after she was found to be shooting birds off of her bird feeder. Melinda Bennett, 49, of Ledyard was subsequently found intoxicated with a pellet rifle in her garage on Meetinghouse Lane, police said.
Police said officers observed fresh blood and feathers on the floor of the garage upon arrival, according to a release. The suspect then allegedly admitted to shooting the birds. Police said Bennett was processed and released on bond. She is due to appear in court September 28, police said.
