It's Official! Connecticut's Striper Is Biggest!
Earlier this week, the International Game Fish Association certified an 81 pound, 14 ounce lunker from Connecticut angler Greg Myerson. Way to go Greg!

This fish tale is true — officially.
Greg Myerson's massive striped bass catch this summer, which weighed in at 81 pounds 14 ounces, has beaten the existing record of 78 pounds 8 ounces, set by Al McReynolds on Sept. 21, 1982, while fishing off Atlantic City, NJ.
The International Game Fish Association approved the passing of the torch this week.
Myerson shared the dramatic story of his historic catch with Patch. It was snagged Aug. 4 on Long Island Sound, just beyond Outer Southwest Reef off Westbrook. Myerson, an avid fisherman since 12, is a resident of North Branford.
The Press of Atlantic City interviewed McReynolds, who offered a gracious congratulations.
