Ledyard, Gales Ferry Firefighters On Scene at Chimney Fire [UPDATE]

10 p.m. Update:

Gales Ferry Volunteer Fire Company writes: At 2027 hours [8:27 p.m.] this evening, we were dispatched to a chimney fire at 57 Harvard Terrace.

Upon the chief’s arrival, he determined their was an active fire in the chimney. Ladder 25 deployed crews to the roof and interior crews removed the blockage. Units cleared with no injuries reported.

Ledyard Fire sent the following message via Twitter at 8:35 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7: “Ledyard and @GFVFC are responding to Harvard Terrace for a chimney fire — use caution in the area.”
