Ledyard Homes Without Power Wednesday Night [UPDATE]

At its height, more than 40 percent of the town was without power.

11:40 p.m. Jan. 7 Update:

Three percent of Ledyard homes served by CL&P are still without power. Out of 6,660 households, that equates to 167 homes.

Seven percent of Ledyard households are without power, down from 40 percent earlier in the evening. Out of 6,660 households, 456 are still without power.

CL&P reports that 2,888 of the 6,660 CL&P households in Ledyard are without power. NBC Connecticut reports an equipment malfunction that crews are in the process of repairing.

The outages began around 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7. CL&P has no estimated time for when power will return. A siren at the Dow Chemical plant was activated due to the power outage, according to Ledyard Police‏.

“No emergency exists in the site,” they said.
