Ledyard Man Arrested On DUI Charges Following Rollover Crash: PD
A 911 caller reported the accused had exited the vehicle and ran off into the woods, police said.

LEDYARD, CT – Police said a Ledyard man was arrested Sunday evening following a single vehicle rollover crash in the area of Pumpkin Hill Road, just north of the Huntington Way intersection.
According to a news release, police said a later investigation revealed Juan A. Rivera, 43, of Ledyard was traveling southbound in a 2003 Chevy Blazer on Pumpkin Hill Road when the accused allegedly failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway, causing the vehicle to swerve sideways, nearly strike a northbound motorist and overturn.
A 911 caller reported the accused had exited the vehicle and ran off into the woods, police said. With the assistance of the Stonington Police Department K-9 unit, the accused was subsequently found lying under a pair of fallen trees, attempting to elude detection, police said.

The accused was arrested without incident on charges of failure to drive right, evading responsibility and driving while intoxicated.
