Ledyard Man Charged In Domestic Dispute: Police

A man is facing charges that he shoved his girlfriend to the ground and kicked her in the back, according to police.

LEDYARD, CT — A Ledyard man is facing charges in a domestic case, according to police. Police responded to a home Tuesday night to conduct a welfare check on a minor.

Police dispatch stated that the child's biological father received a text message regarding a disturbance in the home. Police made contact with a man who said he was involved in a physical domestic dispute with his girlfriend.

The man stated that he shoved his girlfriend to the ground following a verbal argument, according to police. The man then kicked the victim in the back all in the presence of a five-year-old child.

The man was charged with disorderly conduct, third-degree assault, and risk of injury to a minor.

He was held on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
