Ledyard Man Charged With DUI In Overdose Crash: Police
A man is facing accusations that he crashed his car due to an opioid-induced overdose, according to police.
LEDYARD, MA — A man is facing charges on accusations that he crashed his car due to an opioid-induced overdose, according to police. James Labbe, 34, of Ledyard, was charged with DUI.
Police responded to a report of a one-car accident on Church Hill Road on Friday. Police arrived to find Labbe unconscious but breathing. Police said that Labbe had suffered an opioid-induced overdose.
EMS personnel administered NARCAN which effectively reversed Labbe’s overdose, and he was transported to William W. Backus Hospital for treatment.

Labbe was issued a misdemeanor summons and is due to appear in New London Superior Court on June 15.
