Ledyard Man Charged With Intentional Cruelty To Persons: Police
A Ledyard man is facing a charge of intentional cruelty to persons, according to police.
LEDYARD, CT — A Ledyard man is facing a charge of intentional cruelty to persons, according to police. Police initiated an investigation into the man after receiving a call from the victim, his wife, who had been "physically removed" from their Gold Star Highway home Sept. 29.
The victim, according to police, made a second complaint Oct. 19 stating that the man "removed thermostats and food from the residence, and removed the victim’s ability to obtain money, making it so the victim had no heat, no food and no way to purchase any."
Police obtained a warrant and the man was taken into custody Wednesday. He was charged with intentional cruelty to persons and released on a $25,000 bond.
