Ledyard Man Charged In Pedestrian's Death On Lisbon Street

LISBON, CT — A Ledyard man is facing multiple charges after being accused of fatally striking a male pedestrian walking on the street in Lisbon Monday night, according to Connecticut State Police.
The victim died at the scene of the crash, which occurred just before 10:30 p.m. The driver, William C. Stonier, was arrested on suspicion of illegal possession of a firearm while intoxicated and operating his red Dodge Ram Bighorn under the influence, police said.
Stonier was held on a $75,000 cash or surety bond and released into the custody of the Department of Corrections personnel located at Corrigan Correctional Facility. He was scheduled to appear at Norwich Superior Court on Wednesday.

The pedestrian's identity is pending with the Office of Chief Medical Examiner. Additional charges related to this investigation are anticipated as the investigation remains active, according to police.
