A man is charged with entering a neighbor's home, assaulting a woman, and fighting with officers, according to police.

LEDYARD, CT — A man has been charged on accusations that he forced his way into a neighbor's home, assaulted a woman, then fought with officers, according to police. Jacob Baker, 37, of Gales Ferry, was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree criminal trespassing, second-degree criminal mischief, and interfering with police.

Baker is accused of forcing his way into a neighbor's home Sunday at 7:17 p.m. Police said he caused "property damage and then assaulted the female residing in the house." The man who lives in the house then forced Baker out of the home before police arrived.

Police then "contacted the accused in the street and after he fought with officers, the officers took the accused into their care and custody." Baker was transported to the hospital for evaluation. Police said that Baker’s wife had called police reporting that her husband had done “mushrooms” and was behaving erratically.
