Ledyard Man Sentenced to 10 Years of Prison for Sexual Assault
James Matthewson was arrested in February 2014 on multiple charges of sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.

In February of this year, the Ledyard Police Department arrested James Matthewson of 41G Flintlock Rd., Ledyard, on five counts of sexual assault in the first degree and three counts of risk of injury to a minor.
On Monday, August 18, Matthewson was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison for the sexual assault of three children, according to the state Department of Corrections website and NBC Connecticut.
His history includes protective orders put into place. On April 9 of this year, Matthewson was charged on an arrest warrant with two counts of violation of a protective order, according to Ledyard Police. He was arraigned at New London Superior Court on those charges.

Matthewson, 29, had “extensive sexual contact” with the three girls when they were between the ages of six and nine, NBC Connecticut reported.
