Ledyard Mayor Appointed as First East Lyme Police Chief
The mayor of Ledyard has been selected as the first police chief for the town of East Lyme.
EAST LYME, CT - Officials said the town of East Lyme has selected its first police chief, as reported by NBC Connecticut.
The East Lyme Police Commission unanimously selected Michael Finkelstein as chief Tuesday, according to NBC Connecticut. He is currently serving as the mayor of Ledyard and was a Ledyard police officer for 26 years, serving as a lieutenant for 10 years.
Finkelstein’s selection comes as the town works to develop an independent police department, NBC Connecticut reported. Finkelstein said he will work to makes sure his transition into the position will not negatively affect Ledyard in any way.
