Ledyard Police Make Larceny Arrest

Norwich Woman Charged in Starr Wood Market Shoplifting Case

Following a month-long investigation, Ledyard Police arrested a Norwich woman in connection with a shoplifting complaint at Starwood Market last month.

On Jan. 14, the management at Starr Wood Market on Colonel Ledyard Highway contacted Ledyard Police and reported shoplifting had just occurred involving approximately $200 worth of items. The store indicated that the suspected individual involved had fled in a vehicle with out-of-state plates.

Subsequent investigation by Ledyard Police led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for Darlene W. Kripps, 46, of 27 Norwich Ave. Apt #6, Norwich. On Monday, Feb. 14, Kripps turned herself in to police upon learning a warrant had been issued for her arrest. She was charged with Larceny 6th Degree and was presented at Superior Court in New London for arraignment.
