Ledyard Scam Alert: Police Warn of Increasing Scam Calls
Have you been contacted by Microsoft or the IRS lately? Ledyard Police say it's likely the phone calls are scams.

Post from Ledyard Police Department:
There has been an influx of scam calls to Ledyard residents recently. There are two scams being used right now that are victimizing people more so than others.
One is the “Microsoft” scam where someone says they work for the company and that there is a problem with your computer. They ask for money and in some cases, remote access to your computer.

The other is the “IRS” scam where someone identifies themselves as an enforcement officer and says that you have violated federal law. In some cases, the caller is aggressive, threatening to send officers to your home if you don’t send money.
Microsoft and the IRS do not use these practices! DO NOT send money to anyone who calls or emails you with these types of requests or threats.
