Ledyard Students Hope To Donate 500 Pounds Of Produce

Students at Ledyard High School are hoping to donate at least 500 pounds of produce​ to a food center in New London.

LEDYARD, CT — Students at Ledyard High School are hoping to donate at least 500 pounds of produce to the Gemma Moran Food Center in New London, as reported by News 8. The produce is currently being grown at the school by students in the agricultural science program.

According to News 8, the program was made possible by a $3,000 grant from Future Farmers of America Living to Serve. Students will also get a chance to visit third grade classrooms in town to hopefully inspire some future farmers.
