Ledyard Teacher Pleads 'Not Guilty' in Sexual Assault Case

The student is now 18-years-old but was a senior when the alleged relationship took place, the arrest warrant stated.

East Lyme resident William C. Friskey, 36, pled not guilty to two counts of sexual assault in the second degree, according to NBC Connecticut.

Friskey is a teacher at Ledyard High School and is now on paid administrative leave. Police were quoted in the NBC Connecticut article as saying the teacher allegedly engaged in a sexual relationship with a female student.

The reported relationship lasted approximately one year and was terminated by the student, according to the NBC article.

According to WTNH, the alleged sexual acts took place at the school and Friskey’s home.

Friskey allegedly convinced the student to continue the relationship when she wanted to end it, NBC Connecticut reported. He allegedly said he would hurt himself if she left.

A staff member discovered a letter Friskey allegedly wrote to the student in a laptop’s recycling bin, according to NBC Connecticut.

According to the Rate My Teacher website, Friskey has an overall rating of 76 percent. He was rated on the following criteria: easiness, helpfulness, clarify, knowledgeable, exam difficulty and textbook use.

WTNH reported Friskey has a court date set for a later date in August.
