NORWICH, CT—A 19-year-old Ledyard woman was arrested Thursday late morning for allegedly assaulting a person at Norwich Superior Court. Kalyn R. Bomster of 1892 Center Groton Road, Ledyard, is alleged to have taken off from the courthouse, jumped on a motorcycle and hit a parked vehicle while trying to abscond.

Bomster was charged with third-degree assault, breach of peace, interfering with a police officer, unsafe movement with a motor vehicle and operating a motorcycle without a motorcycle license.

According to a report in The Day, authorities say she assaulted an individual inside the courthouse, then ran with court employees giving chase. A Norwich police officer “ordered her to stop, but Bomster allegedly started to move the motorcycle in an attempt to flee, crashed into a parked vehicle and was apprehended.”

In one of the most recent in late 2018, Bomster and others were charged with offenses that sprang out of a shots-fired investigation in Groton, and led to a separate case of a home invasion, alleged to have been part of a drug deal gone bad.

In December of 2018, records show, she was arrested and faced 13 separate driving and operating under the influence-related and drug charges by Troop E. She was released on bond. The day before that arrest, Norwich police charged her with resisting arrest and driving-related charges. She bonded out in that case as well.

Months before, she was charged in October of 2018 with breach of peace and threatening and was released on surety bond.

Previously, in 2017, Bomster had been charged with driving and drug offenses. In every case, she was given bond and released.

Online court records show she has court appearances slated for July 31, August 1 and in the case from June 27, a court date on July 11.
