Ledyard Woman Accused Of Operating Unlicensed Repair Shop: PD

Police said the business had been denied a repair shop license by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

LEDYARD, CT — Police said a Ledyard woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon on charges of allegedly operating a repair shop without a license.

According to a news release, Ledyard police said the department received a complaint on Feb. 22 that money had been pre-paid for repairs to a victim’s vehicle, but it was not repaired.

Police said further investigation revealed the repair shop, J&K Towing, had been denied a repair shop license by the Department of Motor Vehicles. After further investigation, police applied for an affidavit, which was approved.

Police said Jessica Carlebach, 42, was arrested at the Ledyard Police Department without incident on the charge of operating a repair shop without a license.
